Are they turning? The Tides of WB

The First Hand
Long ago there was a CM for one of the most glorious states of the newly formed Indian repubic named Bidhan Chandra Roy. He was a dreamer, a planner and an executionist... he dreamt of bulding a state with an economy to envy... industries was his main concern... he showed results... albiet some failures... but then he had an agenda in which he was dedicated...
He was succeeded by this non competent fool (there were a couple of fools in between) who thought he could milk the cow his predecessor had brought to this state... but it is rather common knowledge that you can only milk a cow to his capacity... once he is empty, he kicks back.. and so ended the Congress Raj in West Bengal..
Sickles, hammers and stars - a common mans tools
The Left front with its communist ideology turned a new leaf in the development of the state... While the congress had adopted a capitalist stance to development, in the later part of their regime, they had ignored the common man - the labourer, the farmer - what with famines hitting rural parts of WB... The Left front took over and brought in major reforms in the farming sector, they earned a huge vote bank in rural india and in refugees from Bangladesh, bhutan, nepal whom they granted citizenship... The organisation was strong at the grassroots... and that is where they led the revolution from...
Lack of Options and Futures
But then they made the over-milking mistake too... the state economy stagnated... farming reforms had taken it to a certain level but lack of industrialisation in a time where other states were busy attracting FDI and local investments relegated the state to a backward one... militant labour unions, lack of transparency in dealings in land acquisition, unfavourable policies for businesses were the major woes that plagued the economy... but then the people did not have any choice... the Congress had failed them once and there was simply no other major opposition... She
So when a certain lady split herself from the Congress and began a tirade against the left parties, s0me of the early adopters jumped her Bandwagon... her policies were clear but her decisions werent... which made the people sceptical...
?
But today, there is a tide of change sweeping on this day of Lok sabha results, the Left is trailing pitifully, even in some of their strongholds... Does this mean that the people of West Bengal now have more faith in Mamata Banerjee... or is it that they are willing to opt for anything except the Left front... is it desperateness thats causing this tide or is this a conscious decision to try another party... the Keralites had made this choice consciously... they have shown the capability to throw a non performing and anti reformist government out of power... Is WB doing the same? I leave you with the questions.
